Great at code and want to feel just as comfortable in English meetings? I help software developers, IT apprentices, and career changers speak and write English confidently at work. Lessons are online and 100% in English.
WHY ME
I'm a native American English speaker and a professional frontend developer (12+ years, Angular and TypeScript), with a long career teaching at university level, including web programming. I've led a cross-functional team of 12, so I know how real software teams talk, write, and give feedback.
WHAT YOU'LL PRACTISE
- Stand-ups: a clear, short update, flagging blockers
- Planning and refinement: asking questions, estimating, pushing back politely
- Sprint reviews: demoing your work and explaining technical decisions
- Retrospectives: giving and receiving feedback diplomatically
- Writing: pull request descriptions, commit messages, tickets, emails, documentation
- Job readiness: technical interview practice, English CV and LinkedIn profile
HOW IT WORKS
Role-play of Scrum events with rotating roles and realistic tickets, followed by gentle feedback. Every session ends with a developer-themed Word of the Day, with examples, antonyms, and etymology.
Lessons are 60 minutes, online, once a week.
Start 1:1 or join a small rolling group (maximum 5). Join any week, because every session is complete on its own.
WHO IT'S FOR
If you work in IT, study it, or are moving into it, and you can follow a conversation in English, this is for you.
Curious? Message me, and we'll find a time for a free, relaxed 30-minute intro call.
