I like to keep my lessons organized but also fun and flexible, especially when I'm teaching young learners. I usually start with a quick warm-up, like a simple conversation, game, or review of the previous lesson. It helps students feel comfortable and gets them excited to learn.
Then I introduce the new topic using pictures, stories, or other visual materials that match the student's age and English level. After that, we practice through interactive activities like role-playing, games, reading short stories, and speaking exercises. I want my students to use English as much as possible instead of just listening to me talk.
I also ask comprehension questions and encourage students to explain their answers in their own words. This helps build their confidence, critical thinking, and communication skills. If I notice a student is struggling or learns differently, I adjust my teaching style and activities to fit their needs.
I always try to create a positive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes because that's an important part of learning. I end each lesson with a quick review, celebrate what they did well, and give them something to look forward to in the next class.
