My name is Manuel. I’m a medical doctor currently completing my Approbation in Hamburg. I believe learning English should sound natural, regardless of your accent. I break down English teaching into 5 steps.
First, building connection with students. This gets them speaking right away with little to no pressure.
Second, vocabulary input. This helps with pronunciation and word usage.
Third, controlled practice between students. This builds their confidence and allows me to correct mistakes in supportive way.
The final steps are fluency tasks and homework, because they encourage students to keep studying on their own.
My teaching style is categorised in 4 stages;
60% of student talking time, I design activities so students do most of the speaking.
Correction of errors which focuses on pronunciation, delayed feedback for grammar to maintain fluency.
Real-life focus - Everything we practice relates directly to topics students actually talk about.
Positive first - I always highlight what students did well before giving corrections.
