Final year modules included German Language (level B2), Spanish Language (level C1), German cultural studies, Translation, and Subtitling modules. I completed a research project about an aspect of the German culture, for which I choose “the role that sports played in the GDR’s fight for global supremacy and recognition”. It required highly proficient time-management skills, due to the workload of the project, along with critical reading and thinking skills, necessary to evaluate the importance of the elevated number of sources I had to rely upon and analyse.
Third year – Erasmus at the Ruhr Universität Bochum where I completed various German Language specific, Spanish Language, Intercultural and Translation modules. I took part in a group presentation to be delivered completely in Spanish, for which I was chosen as the group leader tasked with organising and dividing the workload between the team members.
First and Second year modules included and not limited to German Language (Beginner-Advanced), Spanish Language (Advanced), various Intercultural Studies, Introductory Linguistic and Translation modules.
Achieved a University scholarship due to my examination results in 2019/20 (1st class honours).
