I start each session by understanding where the student is struggling, whether it's a specific concept, an upcoming exam, or general confidence. From there I build the lesson around their needs rather than a fixed script.
I focus on building intuition first before jumping into formulas, once a student understands why something works, the mechanics follow much more naturally.
I typically split a session into three parts: a quick recap of the previous topic, working through new material together, and then practice problems where the student leads and I guide. I've found this structure builds both understanding and independence over time.
