What my lessons look like
My lessons are built around one simple idea: you learn a language by using it, not by being afraid of making mistakes.
I don’t want my students to spend an entire lesson memorizing grammar rules and then feel nervous the moment they have to speak. Communication is at the heart of my teaching. I encourage my students to speak from the very beginning, at whatever level they are comfortable with.
Every lesson is personalized. At the beginning, I like to understand the student’s current level, goals and interests. From there, we can decide what would be most useful — whether that is improving conversation, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, reading, writing, school English, preparation for everyday situations, or simply becoming more confident speaking.
For conversation-focused lessons, we might talk about everyday life, travel, work, hobbies, current interests or a topic you enjoy. I will naturally correct mistakes, explain why something is said differently, and introduce useful vocabulary without constantly interrupting the conversation.
For students who need more structured learning, I can combine conversation with grammar, exercises, reading and writing. For children and teenagers, I keep activities age-appropriate and engaging, while for adults I focus on practical English that they can actually use in their daily lives.
My professional background includes many years of working with children of different ages, as well as living and working in international environments. This has taught me that every person learns differently. Some students need structure, some learn through conversation, and others need a little more encouragement before they feel comfortable speaking.
Most importantly, I want my lessons to be a place where you can make mistakes without feeling embarrassed. Mistakes are not something to be ashamed of — they are how we learn.
My goal is that you finish each lesson feeling that you learned something new, but also that you are a little more confident than you were when we started.
