Joana Gerda Schulte

I am a native English speaker with experience in teaching both in-person and online. I have previously volunteered as an arts and crafts teacher for younger students and worked as an online english tutor for learners aged 14 to 45. I guided students in advancing their speaking, reading, listening, and writing competencies, covering proficiencies from levels B2 to C1. In addition to that, I am an older sibling who grew up taking on the role of a teacher to my younger brother which has given me experience in adapting to many different learning styles.
Through these experiences, I have developed a flexible teaching approach to fit an individual and a deep well of patience and understanding, which I believe are essential when it comes to tutoring.

I like to tailor my classes to the age group I am teaching. According to what is preferred, the dynamics of the classes can be teacher to student as well as conversational.
From experience, for children below the age of 13; I make use of my artistic background and adapt a more creative, interactive and fun method.
From ages 14 to 17; I teach with the aim of keeping things interesting and engaging yet informative.
To students that are 18 and above, classes can take a formal or casual roll depending on the preference of the student. Focusing more on vocabulary and fluency in speech and writing.
Of course keeping in mind and focusing on the requirements and desired content each student needs or would like to study.
