My teaching philosophy is that everyone is capable of learning. My background is in Special Education, where I became an expert in differeniating lessons to my students´needs. Oftentimes, I would be teaching the same lesson to four students simutaniously, each at different levels and with various needs. I am skilled in recognizing gaps in understanding and scaffolding my instruction to support the student effectivley. Now as an English tutor, I use the same approach to tailor my instruction specifically to the individual.

I am currently a second lanugage learner myself, enrolled in part time Spanish courses. I understand first hand what it´s like to learn a new language and the ups and downs that come with it. I have gained even more patience through this experience and know how important it is to be understood.

Together we will identify goals, analyze your learning style, and adapt as necessary. Whether you have a basic knowledge, more advanced skillset, or are starting from zero, you will leave our classes more confident in your Englihs acquisiion. My lessons include a mix of focus on grammar and writing, as well as application, converstaion, and listening acivities. I love to teach and learn through games, stories, connection, and cultural experiences.

My current clients will tell you that I meet them where they´re at, encourage them to make mistakes, and keep things light and fun.
