I have taught English for 9 years both online and in person. I tend to make my lessons engaging, fun and learner friendly through beginning from words and phrases that they use in their day to day interactions. We practice these words and phrases in Reading, speaking, listening and writing.
My typical learning session integrates activities (both individual and group depending on the size of the class), games, short films and language practice interactions to enhance confidence and fluency in speaking English. I also make an effort to learn basic words n phrases in my student's first language for ease of learning and reference.
In a typical situation, speaking a new language can be challenging, however in my class I simplify the process by allowing the learner to lead. They choose what they feel more enthusiastic about learning then we pick from there. Every day we embark on a rigorous process of study, games and practice until a learner feels confident to use the new words of the day. They practice the new words in short sentences, day to day phrases and in various contexts until they can speak atleast half of them fluently at the end of the lesson.
Our sessions may also use storytelling , role play and annotations to improve vocabulary depending on the English level and age group of the learners.
Apart from tutoring, I also help learners with their homework and preparation for English as a second language test.
