David Earl

I've been active in the field of education for about 40 years. I started by teaching my trade of radio communications when I served in the military. Since leaving the service I have been a full time teacher and trainer since 1994. I've taught subjects as diverse as using the Microsoft Office suite of programmes to vocal production for giving presentations, to cross cultural awareness for business professionals. For the past 20 years I have focussed primarily on teaching the English language. Within this field I work in the business English area and I'm experienced in the appropriate use English for business professionals and managers. I'm an SME for maritime English, and I have experience in teaching aviation, and supply and logistics English.

My lessons are based around the communicative approach. I spend time to determine your specific requirements, needs and goals for your growth and future career. My lessons are based around a balanced mix of required theory, practical exercises, guided role plays, video lessons and listening exercises. My idea is that you learn by doing! We will do a lot of talking.

I'm not an academic who has spent his career in the classroom. I started out as a junior sailor in the navy and worked my way up. My knowledge and experience are the result of working in the field. My personality and attitudes come from a life of travel and intercultural exposure. I have hands on experience as a worker, leader and manager.

I'm a senior professional within the field of corporate and business education. My believe is that learning should be purposeful, but also fun!
