My lessons feel more like a conversation than a class, which I think is exactly what most learners need. The goal is never to make someone feel like they are being tested but to make them feel comfortable enough to actually use the language without overthinking it.
In terms of teaching methods, I focus heavily on contextual learning. Rather than drilling grammar rules in isolation, I work with real materials like news articles, short videos, social media content, and everyday scenarios that are actually relevant to what the student wants to do with English. This keeps lessons engaging and makes new vocabulary and structures stick much faster.
For content I adapt entirely to the student. A professional who needs English for work emails and meetings gets very different sessions from someone who wants to improve their conversational confidence or prepare for an exam. I am particularly strong in business English, professional writing, and helping students sound natural rather than overly formal or textbook stiff, which comes directly from my four years of working as a copywriter and content strategist.
In terms of lesson dynamics I always split the session between structured input and free practice. We might work through a piece of writing or a specific grammar point together and then move into open conversation or a practical exercise where the student applies what we just covered.
As for teaching experience, while this would be my first formal tutoring role, I have spent four years communicating professionally in English across agencies and international brands, and as a non-native speaker myself I bring a perspective that many native speaker tutors simply cannot offer. I know what it feels like to learn this language and that makes me a more patient and intuitive teacher.
