About Me
Hi! I’m Sofia Cigolini, an international student in European Studies currently studying between Belgium, Spain, and Italy. I’m fluent in English (C1) and have a passion for language education and cultural exchange. My teaching experience includes working at English-language summer camps for children, where I led fun, immersive activities to help kids develop vocabulary, listening, and speaking skills through play, games, and storytelling.
In addition, I’ve volunteered as a homework tutor for non-native Italian-speaking children, helping them improve their language skills and academic performance. At university, I’ve taken part in debates, cultural events, and peer-led learning initiatives , all of which sharpened my ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and support others in their learning journey.
My Teaching Style
My approach is adaptable and student-focused. Whether I’m working with children, teenagers, or adults, I prioritize creating a comfortable, engaging environment where learners can build confidence and fluency. Lessons are personalized to your level and goals , from conversational English to grammar, writing, or exam prep, and designed to make learning enjoyable and effective.
For younger students, especially those I’ve worked with in English-language summer camps, I focus on playful, immersive learning. This includes songs, storytelling, games, and creative exercises that help children absorb the language naturally while having fun. I emphasize building confidence and curiosity, creating a space where mistakes are seen as part of the learning process.
For teenagers and adults, I offer a more structured yet still interactive approach. This can include grammar explanations, vocabulary building, conversational practice, writing support, and listening exercises, all based on real-life topics and practical scenarios. I also draw on my academic experience to help students with essay writing, presentations, and preparation for standardized tests or interviews.
Above all, I aim to create a safe, motivating environment where students feel supported, encouraged, and empowered to grow. Whether you prefer a relaxed conversation-based class or a more academic structure, we’ll find the right balance together.
