My name is Shreya. I teach English to high-school learners. Although I do not yet have formal professional experience, I have taught high-school students informally and discovered that teaching is something I genuinely enjoy and want to pursue seriously.
My lessons are built around balanced skill development: reading, writing, speaking, and listening. I begin with a short warm-up to connect to prior knowledge and introduce the topic. Then, I guide students through structured input (text, audio, or model language) followed by controlled practice and finally more open, communicative tasks such as discussions, problem-solving activities, or short writing assignments. I regularly include authentic materials, cultural topics, and exam-relevant tasks so that classroom English connects to real life as well as to curricular goals.
I aim to build a safe, calm, and communicative classroom climate in which students feel able to participate without fear of mistakes. I use pair and group work strategically to increase speaking time, support peer learning, and reduce anxiety. Feedback is specific, constructive, and linked to clear success criteria so students understand not only what to correct but how to grow.
While my teaching experience so far has been informal, I treat it with professional seriousness: I plan lessons with clear objectives, reflect on what worked, and adapt tasks to student needs. I see myself as a facilitator of thinking and language use, not just a deliverer of content. My goal is for students to leave my lessons more confident, more accurate, and more aware of how to continue improving independently.
