I have 2 courses in Teaching English as a foreign language from TEFL Academy.
My teaching style is through visiuals and activities (colours, patterns, song etc.)
I have a very interactive style of tutoring and expect my students to engage, even if they are lacking th confidence because that is how confidence is built, through vulnerability.
Because my preferred level is pre to primary school learners, my English classes focus on the basics of
English.
Lesson duration: (40–60 minutes)
Structure: Warm-up ? Presentation ? Practice ? Production ? Review.
Preschool (3–5 years)
Focus: listening, speaking, sounds of English, loving the language.
Outcomes: understand simple classroom English, follow basic instructions, say their name/age, name common objects (colors, animals, toys), and enjoy songs and stories.
Lower Primary (6–8 years)
Focus: stronger speaking, begin reading and writing simple words and sentences.
Outcomes: talk about family, school, food, weather, feelings; read simple sentences; cpy and write basic sentences; Simple phonics.
It is common that children develop these levels at their own speed and pace. These lessons are playful but carefully planned to build real language skills.
Typical lesson plan breakdown:
- Warm-up and review (5–10 min)
- New language presentation (10–15 min)
- Guided practice (10–15 min)
- Creative use / production (5–10 min)
- Cool-down and review (5 min)
The end goal is to provide the learner with the Basics of English and Phonics so that they have the skillset to continue developing and mastering the English language from the foundations I have set for them, with confidence!
