Perry Hessenauer

I am an experienced English language educator with over 15 years of international teaching experience across the Middle East, Asia, and the UK. I specialize in English for Academic Purposes (EAP), academic writing, research skills, presentation skills, Business English, and general English for intermediate to advanced students. I have held teaching and leadership roles at institutions including Nazarbayev University (Kazakhstan), University of Central Lancashire (China), Nizwa University (Oman), and King Saud University (Saudi Arabia), among others. My experience spans Foundation programs, K12, graduate and post-graduate support, and online teaching with students from China, Turkey, Japan, South Korea, and Saudi Arabia. I have extensive experience in curriculum development, material writing, teacher training, and instructional coaching. My preferred age group is 17+ and adults. I particularly love teaching oral speaking practice for general English and facilitating critical thinking discussions. I find great satisfaction in helping students gain confidence in expressing their ideas clearly and engaging in meaningful conversations on a wide range of topics. Watching students develop both their language skills and their ability to think critically about complex issues is one of the most rewarding aspects of my work.

My academic qualifications include a Doctor of Education in Leadership (in progress, 4.0 GPA), an MA in Linguistics, a BA in Education (ESOL focus), a Post Graduate Certificate in Instructional Coaching, and a Professional Certificate in Academic Practice (PCAP). I also hold a Post Graduate Diploma in Intercultural Communication and a Certificate in Education/ESOL. Prior to teaching, I worked as a photogrammetrist for approximately 10 years in South Africa, the UK, and the USA. I am passionate about helping students develop confidence and fluency in English for academic, professional, and personal growth.
