Paular Obaigwa

My name is Paular Mokeira, and I am a teacher by profession specializing in English and Literature. My lessons are learner-centred, interactive, and designed to create a positive environment where every student feels confident to participate and express their ideas.

In my English lessons, I use a variety of teaching methods, including discussions, question-and-answer sessions, group work, presentations, role-playing, reading activities, and practical language exercises. I encourage students to develop their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills through active participation rather than relying only on traditional lectures. I also use real-life examples and relevant learning materials to make lessons meaningful and easier to understand.

When teaching Literature, I encourage learners to explore texts critically and creatively. We read and analyse novels, plays, poems, and other literary works, focusing on themes, characters, literary devices, language, and the lessons that can be drawn from the texts. I encourage students to relate literary ideas to their own experiences and the world around them.

My lessons are dynamic and inclusive. I begin by introducing the topic and connecting it to students’ prior knowledge, followed by guided learning activities and opportunities for discussion and practice. I conclude by assessing understanding and giving feedback.

Through my teaching experience, I have developed strong classroom-management, communication, and learner-support skills. I am passionate about helping students improve their language abilities, develop critical thinking, build confidence, and appreciate the value of English and Literature in their academic and everyday lives.
