My lessons are built around one idea: learning Mandarin should feel like discovering a new culture, not surviving a grammar test.

I focus on real communication — using conversation, storytelling, and practical examples from daily life in China to make every class engaging and useful. Whether we’re ordering food in a Beijing restaurant, chatting about street culture, or breaking down your favorite Chinese movie dialogue, I’ll make sure you understand how the language feels, not just how it’s written.

I use HSK materials as a base and then personalize every lesson to your goals — business Chinese, travel, study, or just for fun. My background in theatre and media helps me create interactive lessons with humor, role-play, and cultural context. You’ll speak from the very first session, gaining confidence through natural repetition and feedback.

I’ve taught both online and in-person, from beginners learning pinyin to advanced learners preparing for scholarships and interviews. One of my proudest moments was helping a student win a full MBA scholarship in Shanghai after mastering her interview in Mandarin.
