As ESL trainer, my task has been to improve the learner's grasp of English communication within multi-lingual, professional environments; from research meetings and symposia, to consultation, mechanical instruction, and physician-patient interaction. ○ The key principle: Domain-specific interaction serves as the ground, means and ultimate goal of the language study. Therefore, the communicative approach I've employed has prioritised the development of meaningful L2 communication when embedded within the relevant domain.
