1. Learner-Centered Approach
With a background in both peer academic support and volunteering in an after-school program for Grades 1 to 7, I’ve developed a deep understanding of how to connect with learners at various stages. My passion for teaching English stems from seeing the confidence students gain when they understand and express themselves clearly in a new language. I aim to create a safe, encouraging space where mistakes are part of the learning process and growth is consistently celebrated. By tailoring lessons to individual needs, I ensure that each student feels seen, supported, and motivated. I look forward to learning with you and making great progress towards learning the English.
2. Integrated Language Skills
Lessons incorporate all key components of language learning:
Speaking through conversation practice, pronunciation drills, and role-play
Listening using audio clips, dialogues, and video content
Reading via age-appropriate texts, articles, and stories
Writing through guided exercises, journaling, and grammar-focused tasks
3. Practical and Thematic Content
I focus on real-life language use, such as:
Everyday conversation
School and academic vocabulary
Travel, hobbies, and cultural topics
This ensures students build functional and relevant language skills.
4. Interactive Classroom Dynamics
Whether in group or one-on-one sessions, I create a welcoming space using:
Open-ended questions to spark discussion
Visual aids, games, and digital tools to keep younger learners engaged
Encouraging feedback to build confidence and fluency
5. Consistent Assessment and Reflection
I casually assess progress through mini-reviews, comprehension checks, and vocabulary recall. I also encourage students to reflect on their own learning through short feedback sessions.
