I am a certified Waldorf teacher with a warm, adaptable approach to language instruction, shaped by several years of teaching learners across a wide range of ages, levels, and settings. Over the course of my career, I have taught everything from first grade to university discussion seminars, and I have learned that the best lesson is one designed around who is actually in the room — their age, goals, interests, and relationship with the language so far.
With young children, I structure lessons around games, storytelling, movement, songs, and playful repetition — activities that keep young learners engaged, lower anxiety, and make new vocabulary and grammar feel natural rather than forced. Young children learn language best when they are having fun and feel safe, so I build every lesson around joy and connection before correction.
With older students and adults, I draw on comprehensible input and other research-backed, evidence-informed techniques that support natural, confident language acquisition. This means lessons built around compelling, level-appropriate content, rich repetition in meaningful contexts, and low-pressure opportunities to produce and practice — always tailoring pacing, materials, and feedback to each learner's goals and proficiency level.
My Waldorf certification grounds my practice in Rudolf Steiner's educational philosophy, which I bring into language teaching through imagination, rhythm, story, and meaning. Steiner's insight — that learners of every age engage most deeply when lessons speak to the head, heart, and hands — helps students connect with a language not just as a subject to be studied, but as a living tool for expression and connection.
I also hold a master's degree and have extensive experience teaching university students, so I am well equipped to support academic writing at the university level — from structuring essays and developing arguments to refining research papers, polishing grammar and style, and building students' confidence as academic writers. Whatever the age or level, my goal is the same: lessons that are purposeful, engaging, and genuinely enjoyable.
