Agricultue and Science teacher with over four years of teaching experiance.

Hello, I am Iroshini from Sri Lanka. I am 38 years old. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture and an MPhil in Science (Biotechnology). Currently, I am in the final stage of my Master’s degree in Applied Statistics in Sri Lanka, and I am also pursuing a Master’s degree in Agriculture, Ecology and Society at the University of Kassel in Germany. I have more than four years of teaching experience in Science for Grade 6, 7, and 8 students, as well as in Agriculture-related subjects, particularly Biosystems Technology for A/L students. I am also capable of teaching Statistics to students. All subjects can be taught in English medium. I am looking for a part-time position, either online or on-site near Kassel. I am also available on weekends. In addition to teaching, I can support students with homework, assignments, and exam preparation. Many of my Sri Lankan students initially had a fear of learning these subjects. Therefore, I used different practical and interactive teaching methods to increase their interest, such as team activities, individual tasks, drama, various types of assignments, journal writing, five-minute question sessions, scientific thinking questions, videos, outdoor activities, laboratory work, and fun learning methods like singing and educational games. I help students understand that subjects (especially Science) are not difficult theoretical topics, but rather part of our daily lives viewed from a scientific perspective. This approach improves their interest and confidence in learning. Therefore, I hope to guide students into the scientific world with less stress and help them see it as a wonderful and exciting subject.
