Teaching Style and Classroom Dynamics
The core of my teaching philosophy is on eye-level communication. Having naturally acquired the language through my upbringing and education at the Nelson Mandela school, I aim to move away from dry grammar drills taken from old textbooks. I believe in interactive and practical teaching. I see each lesson as an dynamic dialogue where we focus on speaking to break down inhibitions and barriers related to language. Mistakes are actively welcomed by me as the best learning tools. Content and Flexibility
I will fully tailor content to my students' ages and specific needs, covering anything from standard homework support and focused test preparation to overcoming individual English tasks. I incorporate various media appropriate for my students' ages, song lyrics, or real-life role-playing situations. Based on my experience in international corporations where I often had to structure tasks and translate technical terms for international colleagues and clients so they could be understood, I know precisely how to break down information and present it in an immediately actionable and understandable manner. As an honest lateral entrant, I approach my first professional tutoring sessions with an entirely open mind. My "teaching experience" stems directly from the real world of the international creative industry (including Warner Music and Sony Music). There, I worked daily with international colleagues and clients whose English was in need of development. I guided them through their tasks, explained technical terms and vocabulary and helped them to handle complex tasks and client calls successfully in English. I bring this patience, empathy and structure directly into my tutoring sessions.
