My lessons are designed to be engaging and straightforward — no dry textbook drilling, no one-size-fits-all worksheets. From the very first session, we talk about what you actually need English for, and everything we do together is built around that.Every lesson has a clear focus, but stays flexible. I might open with a quick warm-up conversation to get you speaking naturally, move into targeted work on a specific skill — whether that's structuring a persuasive argument, nailing your intonation for a presentation, or untangling a grammar concept that's been nagging at you — and close with practical takeaways you can apply straight away. Nothing gets left hanging.

How I teachI'm a big believer in learning by doing. Rather than lecturing at you, I create situations where you're actively using English — role-playing a job interview, workshopping a real email you need to send, practising a speech out loud and refining it together in real time. Mistakes aren't something to be embarrassed about; they're the most useful thing that can happen in a lesson. I'll catch them, explain them clearly, and help you self-correct over time so you become less reliant on me and more confident on your own.I adapt constantly to how you're responding. Some students want detailed grammar explanations; others just want to be corrected naturally as they go. Some need encouragement to slow down and think; others need a push to stop overthinking and just speak. I read the room and adjust — every lesson, every student.

The content we cover

For business English students, lessons often revolve around real workplace scenarios: drafting and editing professional emails, writing reports and proposals, participating in meetings, handling difficult conversations diplomatically, and presenting ideas with structure and impact. We work on both the written and spoken sides, because being polished in one and not the other will only take you so far.

For public speaking, we go beyond just "what to say" and get into how you say it — pacing, pausing, vocal variety, body language awareness, and how to hold a room's attention from the first sentence. I'll often record short practice runs with you so you can hear yourself the way your audience does. It's uncomfortable the first time, and transformative after that.

For exam students, I structure lessons around the specific demands of the test — whether that's essay writing technique, reading comprehension strategies, listening skills, or spoken fluency tasks. We work through past materials, I give detailed written and verbal feedback, and we track your progress so you're always moving forward with intention rather than just hoping for the best.

For foundational learners, I keep things simple, concrete, and encouraging. Grammar is explained in plain English with real examples, vocabulary is built through context rather than rote memorisation, and we always connect what you're learning to something you'll actually use.
