?? Mathematics – Primary (Ages 6–11)
My approach centres on building confidence with numbers through visual learning, repetition, and real-world connections. I believe every child can enjoy maths when it's taught in a way that makes sense to them.

?? Mathematics – Primary (Ages 6–11)
My approach centres on building confidence with numbers through visual learning, repetition, and real-world connections. I believe every child can enjoy maths when it's taught in a way that makes sense to them.
A typical lesson looks like this:
1. Warm-Up (5–10 mins)
We start with a short, fun activity — number games, counting challenges, or a quick mental maths quiz — to activate prior knowledge and settle into the lesson.
2. Introduction of Concept (10 mins)
I introduce the new topic using visual aids, manipulatives (counters, blocks, number lines), and relatable examples from everyday life — like using money, sharing food, or measuring objects.
3. Guided Practice (10–15 mins)
We work through problems together. I model the steps clearly and encourage children to explain their thinking out loud, building both understanding and communication skills.
4. Independent Practice (10 mins)
Children work through exercises on their own, at their own pace. I circulate to offer support and observe where extra reinforcement may be needed.
5. Wrap-Up & Review (5 mins)
We close with a quick recap — what did we learn today? Children are invited to share one thing they found easy and one thing they found tricky, making reflection a natural habit.

?? English – Primary (Ages 6–11)
My approach focuses on nurturing a love of language through storytelling, interactive activities, and building skills progressively — from phonics and reading to writing and expression.
A typical lesson looks like this:
1. Warm-Up (5–10 mins)
We begin with a short activity such as a word of the day, a spelling game, a tongue twister, or a short read-aloud to spark curiosity and get language flowing.
2. Focused Skill Building (10 mins)
Depending on the lesson goal — phonics, grammar, comprehension, or creative writing — I introduce the concept clearly with examples, breaking it into small, manageable steps.
3. Interactive Activity (10–15 mins)
Children practise the skill through engaging tasks: matching games, fill-in-the-blank exercises, reading passages with guided questions, or collaborative storytelling.
4. Creative or Written Practice (10 mins)
Students apply what they've learned independently — writing sentences, short paragraphs, or responding to a prompt. I encourage creativity while reinforcing correct structure.
5. Share & Celebrate (5 mins)
We end by sharing work — children read aloud, swap with a partner, or display their writing. Celebrating effort builds confidence and enthusiasm for the next lesson.
