Grace Bolowana

I am an experienced English, Drama, and Early Childhood educator with a strong background in literacy development, creative learning, and student-centred teaching. My experience includes teaching kindergarten learners, primary students, and learners from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds. I specialize in early childhood education, phonics instruction, children’s literacy, drama education, and creative communication skills.

I hold a Bachelor of Social Science with a major in Drama and Performance Studies, where I focused on scriptwriting, performance, and stage design, as well as a PGCE teaching qualification. In addition to classroom teaching, I am also a writing coach and author of educational materials and children’s books, which strengthens my ability to design engaging and meaningful learning content for young learners.

My teaching approach is interactive, inclusive, and learner-centred. I believe children learn best through active participation, creativity, and emotional engagement. In my classroom, I use phonics, storytelling, songs, movement, games, visual aids, role play, puppetry, and drama-based techniques to make learning enjoyable and memorable. These methods help learners build confidence, improve communication skills, and develop strong foundations in speaking, listening, reading, and vocabulary development.

For older learners, I integrate critical thinking, creative writing, public speaking, and performance activities to encourage self-expression and language fluency. Drama techniques play an important role in my teaching because they help students develop confidence, collaboration skills, imagination, and authentic communication.

I also place strong emphasis on creating a warm, supportive, and inclusive learning environment where every child feels respected, motivated, and encouraged to participate. My lessons are carefully adapted to meet different learning styles and abilities, ensuring that all learners can progress successfully.

Additionally, I incorporate multicultural themes and real-world learning into my lessons to help students connect language learning with everyday experiences and global understanding.
