My lessons are designed to be dynamic, goal-oriented, and highly personalized. I believe that for a student to truly master English, they need more than just a textbook; they need a safe space to practice and a clear structure to follow.
As a certified "Train the Young Trainer," I have spent years perfecting the art of keeping students engaged. Here is the 4-step framework I use for every session:
1. The Confidence Kick-off (First 10 Minutes): We start with a "low-stakes" conversation or a creative English game. This lowers the student’s anxiety, making them more comfortable making mistakes and speaking naturally from the start.
2. Targeted Concept Building (15 Minutes): I introduce a specific linguistic goal, whether it is a grammar point, new vocabulary, or a communication technique. Drawing from my experience as a STEM Instructor, I use visual aids and storytelling to simplify complex rules, ensuring they are easy to digest.
3. Then comes the "I Do, We Do, You Do" Phase (25 Minutes):
I Do: I demonstrate the concept.
We Do: We practice together through interactive exercises or role-play.
You Do: The student takes the lead. This is where I provide real-time, encouraging feedback to build their independence.
4. Reflection & Creative Wrap-up (10 Minutes): We end by summarizing what was learned. I also provide a "micro-task" for the week, something fun and practical, like watching a specific English clip or writing a three-sentence story, to keep the momentum going between lessons.
This approach is effective because I have developed creative English content for Master Trainers, and I know how to adapt my material to suit different learning speeds. My goal is to ensure that by the end of every session, the student doesn't just "know" more English; they feel more confident using it. I am currently learning German myself and find it challenging yet enjoyable, which gives me a unique empathy for my students; I understand exactly what it feels like to be in their shoes, and I use that to keep them motivated.
