Early childhood is a critical stage in a child’s development. During this period, children build essential cognitive, social, and emotional skills that influence their future learning and behavior. High-quality teaching in the early years not only enhances academic success but also nurtures personal growth and social competence. In my personal teaching philosophy, I embrace the learning process by engaging the students actively in the learning process. My teaching philosophy is student-centered. My focus in teaching is on the learning process.
For early years foundation stage I focus more on
communication and language.
personal, social and emotional development.
physical development.
literacy.
mathematics.
understanding the world.
expressive arts and design.
For preschools, I teach them how to read and write Alphabetic letters and Numbers. Shapes, colours, two letter words, how to spell their names, interactive story telling and reading.Teaching toddlers requires understanding that they learn best through play, sensory exploration, and short, engaging routines rather than formal instruction. The most effective methods focus on repetition, modeling desired behaviors, and following the child's natural curiosity to build both independence and foundational cognitive skills.
I intend to Use colorful visuals, music, and movement to capture attention.
Provide tactile materials like building blocks or textured toys. Plan activities like circle time, group singing, or collaborative art projects.
Teach turn-taking and sharing through structured play. Provide opportunities for decision-making, such as selecting toys or activities.
Allow children to solve simple problems on their own, stepping in only when necessary.
Celebrate small achievements with praise or rewards.
Redirect negative behaviors with patience and encouragement.
