Ergül Firat

Hi, I’m Ergül. I’m a CELTA-qualified English teacher and currently work at a school, where I continue to develop my experience with different learners and learning needs.

In addition to my CELTA qualification, I also have Montessori education, which has influenced the way I think about learner independence, individual differences, and creating a supportive learning environment. It has helped me become more aware of the importance of adapting teaching to each learner rather than expecting every student to learn in the same way.

Teaching English is not only about explaining grammar or teaching new vocabulary for me. I enjoy helping learners feel more comfortable with English and become more confident when using the language.

My CELTA training has helped me develop a communicative and learner-centred approach to teaching, while my Montessori background has strengthened my focus on individual needs, learner autonomy, and a positive learning experience.

I also believe that motivation plays an important role in language learning. For this reason, I try to make my lessons meaningful, practical, and connected to students’ real interests, daily lives, and personal learning goals.

I believe that every student learns differently, so I try to understand each learner’s goals, strengths, and areas for improvement before planning my lessons.

I aim to create a friendly and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and practising English without unnecessary pressure.
