Ella

Hello! I'm Ella, a 29-year-old Australian living in Friedrichshain, Berlin.

I have over eight years of experience as a writing tutor, working with primary and high school students, as well as university students. I also spent two years as a Teaching Assistant, supporting primary school children with their learning, including reading and writing.

My tutoring experience covers a wide range of areas, including reading comprehension, creative and persuasive writing, essay writing and academic skills. For high school and university students, I particularly enjoy helping with essays, from developing and organising ideas through to structuring arguments, improving clarity and refining written work. I can also provide support with Humanities subjects and broader academic skills. At a university level, I tutored a first-year cohort and supported uni students throughout their coursework and assisted with marking.

My teaching style is patient and encouraging. I adapt my approach to each student and aim to create a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions. With younger students, I like to make learning interactive and engaging, while with older students I can provide more structured support tailored to their academic goals.

As a native English speaker, I can also offer informal English practice through conversation and everyday activities. I’m currently learning German myself, so I understand what it’s like to learn a new language!
