I have taught English Language to Grade 5 and during my activity, I was tasked with teaching foundational grammar and reading comprehension to the students who lack understanding of English and how to speak English Language because they are from the Yoruba Tribe.
I use literature texts, Dictionary, spelling bee competition program and oral presentations with group included to teach the students.
My teaching methods are interactive, involving the students in English activities through personal presentations and group presentations with role plays and creative tools like cardboards, spelling cards and literature books and cartoon videos to boost their English confidence.
I tailor my lesson plans according to the individual needs of the students because there are different types of students with different attributes and way of learning. I put these in place through usage of evaluation forms to study my students and know their strengths and weaknesses and what training method would be good for each one of them.
