My name is Gabriel. I am 37. Teaching English to kids aged 6 to 13 requires adapting to their different developmental stages while maintaining a fun, engaging, and structured approach. For young learners (ages 6–10), it’s essential to utilise play-based methods, such as songs, games, storytelling, and visuals, to develop basic vocabulary and confidence. Pre-teens (ages 11–14) respond well to interactive lessons that include real-life topics, group work, and creative activities that help them use language in context. Teenagers and young adults (ages 15–20) benefit from goal-oriented lessons focused on practical communication, grammar, writing, and exam preparation, using real-world materials like videos and articles to keep lessons relevant. To help with homework, it’s essential to guide rather than give answers—ask questions, break tasks into steps, and provide sentence starters or examples. Encourage self-correction and explain grammar in simple, relatable ways. Supporting long-term improvement means focusing on all four language skills (listening, speaking, reading, writing), using fun tools like apps or games, tracking progress through quizzes or tasks, and giving positive feedback that highlights specific achievements. Most importantly, be patient, adaptable, and encouraging—confidence and consistent practice are key to success in learning English at any age.
