My lessons are structured, practical, and tailored to each student's goals.

I usually start with a short needs assessment — understanding whether a student wants conversational fluency, exam preparation, or professional/business English — and build a personalized plan from there, rather than following a fixed generic curriculum.

Structure & content: Each lesson typically has three parts: a warm-up conversation to build confidence and ease students into speaking, a focused segment on a specific skill (grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, or writing), and a practical application exercise — like a role-play, email drafting, or discussion — so students immediately use what they've learned. For professionals, I bring in real-world content: emails, contracts, reports, and presentations, drawing on my own background of working across UK and Indian legal and corporate environments where precise, professional English was essential daily.

Teaching style: I believe in correcting through guided self-discovery rather than simply pointing out mistakes — I'll often ask a student to try rephrasing before I offer the correction, which helps it stick. I keep lessons interactive and conversational rather than lecture-style, since speaking confidence usually comes from low-pressure, consistent practice.

A personal note: I'm currently learning German myself (A2 level), so I have a very fresh, first-hand understanding of what it feels like to be a language learner — the frustrations, the small wins, and what actually helps versus what just feels like busywork. That perspective shapes how patient and practical I try to be as a teacher.

Experience: While my formal career has been in legal operations and compliance (detailed in my CV), that work involved constant drafting, correspondence, and cross-cultural communication in English at a professional standard — including coordinating with solicitors, medical experts, and international teams. I'm now channeling that strong command of English, plus my research and explanatory writing background (including academic publications), into tutoring, where I can help students build the same clarity and confidence I relied on in a fast-paced legal environment.
