Alice Hurwood

I have been teaching in my home country Australia for over 5 years and really love working with beginner and intermediate cellists to cultivate their love of music and performing. I often incorporate elements of Alexander Technique training into my lessons to ensure that playing cello is pain-free and always with good posture. I incorporate a mix of aural learning and sight-reading for an all-rounded approach with a focus on following the interests of the student.
I studied classical performance and also work as a freelance folk and world musician, so I am able to teach a solid technical foundation while also teaching a wide range of musical genres and styles.

Ich unterrichte seit über fünf Jahren in meinem Heimatland Australien und liebe es, mit Cellisten von Anfängern und Fortgeschrittenen zu arbeiten und ihre Liebe zur Musik und zum Auftreten zu fördern. Ich baue oft Elemente der Alexander-Technik in meinen Unterricht ein, um sicherzustellen, dass das Cellospiel schmerzfrei und stets in einer guten Haltung verläuft. Ich kombiniere Gehörbildung und Blattspiel für einen ganzheitlichen Ansatz, der sich auf die Interessen des Schülers konzentriert.

Ich habe klassische Musik studiert und arbeite außerdem als freiberufliche Folk- und Weltmusikerin. Daher kann ich eine gute technische Grundlage vermitteln und gleichzeitig ein breites Spektrum an Musikgenres und -stilen unterrichten.
