Ø  She is (she’s) watching TV.

Present perfect continuous: for actions that started in the past and continue and are still in progress now.

Past continuous: for things that were in progress in the past:

Ø  I found 10$ on the street while I was jogging in the park.

Future continuous: for things that will be in progress in the future.

Ø  Sorry, I can’t meet you tomorrow afternoon. I’ll be taking my friend to the airport.

2.    We use the -ing form of verbs when the verb in the subject of the sentence

Ø  Skiing is my favorite winter sport.

Ø  Eating vegetables is good for your health.

Ø  Living in an English-speaking country helps you improve your English fast.

Ø  My mother told me to study for the test.

Ø  We’d like to invest in this technology.

Ø  The girl didn’t want to leave the party.

Ø  Our company is committed to cutting costs.

4.     We use the -ing form of verbs after some specific verbs in English

Here are some common verbs in English that are followed by -ing:

(admit, avoid, consider, enjoy, finish, stand, don’t mind, keep, practice, spend time, stop, suggest, recommend, …)
