Depending on the course, I like to teach with a monthly schedule which is discussed with the student forehand. The goal is to cover the aspects of interest of the student in a defined timeline, so they can evaluate the process in more objective way. I usually give assignments, and depending on the course, you will have goals to achieve.
For example, if you take music production lessons, you will have to produce a track from ground up, considering every step of the production as well as delivering a mastered track.
We cover:
-Harmony
-Melody making
-Rhythm building
-Sampling
-Synthesis
-Mixing and Mastering techniques.

The software I use and teach is mainly Ableton Live 11, but yo can also work your tracks any DAW.
Though depending on the progress of the student, each whole module can take up to four to six months, finishing the module with at least one finished track (apart from all the tools you will have learned).

As a guitar student, you will have to cover a defined amount of songs, which can help you develop your playing and music language skills.

-Scales
-Rhythm technique
-Modes
- Learning your favorite songs and solos
-Signal processing with FX and software
- Jazz Standards
-Chord Melodies
- Improvisation

I've been teaching music for more than 15 years. I'm really keen on listening what students need to develop in their process. I've taught in Ableton Certified Training centers for 4 years before I came to Berlin to do my masters in Sound Art at UDK.
