Tomris Kardes Alper

I graduated with a BA in English Language and Literature in 2009, and since then I have been working as an English instructor in the preparatory schools and modern languages departments of various universities. Alongside that, I have always continued to give private lessons to students of all ages. I also completed my MA in English Language and Literature with a thesis.

In 2021, I moved to Munich, and for the past four years I have been teaching Turkish at the Language Center of the Technical University of Munich. I teach courses ranging from beginner level (A1.1) up to “Turkish Communication” (B1+). Adding Turkish teaching to my 13 years of English teaching experience has been a truly rewarding journey for me.

I still offer private lessons in both English and Turkish for learners of all ages. My lessons are always tailored to the student’s needs and even to their energy on that specific day. You decide how you want to learn: the lesson might turn into an input-heavy session focusing on grammar and vocabulary, or it might take a more communicative form with games and interactive activities. The student’s energy, motivation, and readiness to be challenged are always central, and I shape my lessons by carefully reading the room.

Learning a language with me is never a one-size-fits-all experience—it’s a journey that adapts to you. Some days you might find yourself unlocking tricky grammar structures with clarity, other days you’ll be laughing your way through games, role-plays, and real-life conversations. My goal is to make every lesson not only useful, but also memorable and motivating, so that you leave each session with a sense of progress and excitement to keep going.

Whether you are at absolute beginner level (A1.1) or you already speak some Turkish and simply need more conversation practice, I will make sure that the lesson is both effective and enjoyable. I look forward to meeting you! :)
