My lessons are structured but flexible — I always adapt to the student's current level and needs. At the start of a new topic, I first get an overview of existing knowledge and gaps to target the session accordingly.
In terms of content, I cover all relevant Abitur topics in Computer Science: algorithms, sorting methods, data structures such as lists, trees and graphs, object-oriented programming, SQL database queries, as well as automata theory and formal languages. I work extensively with concrete examples and visual representations, as abstract concepts in Computer Science often become much clearer when you can see and work through them.
A key element of my lessons is active explanation: I regularly ask students to explain concepts in their own words — this not only strengthens understanding but specifically prepares them for the oral Abitur, where exactly that is required.
In exam preparation, I simulate realistic exam conversations, ask targeted follow-up questions and give structured feedback. This way students learn to think clearly and in a structured way under pressure — not just knowing the material, but being able to communicate it convincingly.
