I focus on foundational knowledge first. If the basics are understood, the rest becomes easy to grasp. I try to often teach with real life comparisons. With accounting this is easy as we use accounting everyday. Visiting the store to purchase bread is an accounting transaction. Taking money out of savings to buy a sneaker is an accounting transaction. General wealth management and learning about money comes from a strong foundation in accounting. Accounting forms the foundation in business management and entrepreneurship. When it comes to teaching, my style is patience but not to the point of naivety. I am straightforward and will push my students to do the best they can. I don’t force anyone to be there and each student needs to be want the best for themselves of their own accord. I have taken students who have failed at school and turned their results around in a matter of 3 months. Some students went on to achieve distinctions and even awards at school. I love accounting but more importantly I love imparting knowledge and helping others become independent and think independently. With accounting, you start to view life as a give and take; there are great lessons to be learnt when focusing on its core fundamentals. I achieved a 97% in the final mark of my accounting exam at school, and received awards for the highest mark in the local. When numbers tell a story, it becomes easier to understand and enjoyable. By the time you are done, you will want to impart this knowledge onto others too.
