Performance – My Teaching Style and Experience:
My teaching approach is highly interactive, student-centered, and adaptable. I believe every student learns differently, so I make it a priority to understand their individual strengths, challenges, and goals. I use a mix of teaching methods — from clear explanations and step-by-step demonstrations to real-world examples, visual aids, and interactive activities like quizzes or group discussions.
In my experience teaching architecture students, especially during my time as a student teacher at Tshwane University of Technology, I helped first-year students navigate complex topics such as design software (BIM) and technical concepts like geometry or trigonometry. I found that blending technical instruction with creative problem-solving exercises not only improved their understanding but also kept them motivated and engaged.
I am currently completing my MSc in Digital Architecture in Sweden, where I’ve further developed my ability to manage remote learning environments effectively. I make full use of digital tools like Zoom, Teams, Miro, and screen-sharing software to create dynamic and interactive online lessons. My classroom (whether virtual or in person) is a space where students feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes, and learn at their own pace.
Beyond teaching technical content, I also emphasize the importance of soft skills — like time management, critical thinking, and effective communication — which are especially important in fields like architecture and STEM. My goal is to help students not only succeed in their studies but also grow as independent learners who feel confident tackling new challenges.
Overall, I bring patience, empathy, creativity, and strong organizational skills to every session, ensuring that my students are fully supported and engaged.
