My teaching philosophy begins with understanding the learner's goals. Before designing a learning plan, I like to learn why the student wants to study Arabic, how they intend to use the language, and how much time they can realistically dedicate to practice outside of our sessions.
I generally start with a natural language acquisition approach, focusing on meaningful language use from the beginning. This helps build momentum, confidence, and a sense of early achievement, allowing students to quickly acquire language they can actually use.
From there, I adapt the learning path based on the student's progress, feedback, and learning style. The balance between grammar, reading, conversation, copywork, vocabulary building, and other activities depends on what proves most effective for that particular learner. My goal is not to follow a rigid method, but to help each student make steady, enjoyable, and sustainable progress toward their personal language goals.
