My lessons are relaxed but focused. I want you to feel comfortable asking "silly" questions, because that's usually where the real learning happens. I start by finding out what's confusing you and what you're working toward, then I build the session around that.
I explain concepts in plain language first, using everyday analogies before we get into the textbook version. Then we work through it together diagrams, past exam questions, or just talking it through, depending on what clicks best for you. By the end of each session, I'll ask you to explain it back to me in your own words. That's how I know it's actually stuck.
I don't repeat the same explanation twice if something isn't landing, I find a different angle. I mix short explanations with hands-on practice, use visual aids for processes like cell division or metabolic pathways, and regularly check in during the lesson rather than waiting until the end. Every session has a clear focus, but I stay flexible. If you suddenly get something halfway through, we move on. If you need more time, we take it.
I've spent seven years doing biological research at Charité Berlin and the Max Delbrück Center, and a big part of that work involved teaching and mentoring students and junior researchers explaining complex science clearly is something I do every day. I'm comfortable with all core biology topics: cell biology, genetics, human biology, ecology, and evolution, across Sekundarstufe I and II.
Whether you need to catch up, keep up, or get ahead - I'll meet you where you are.
