My sessions are built around the student, not a fixed curriculum. I start by getting to know where each person is, what they're working toward, what's getting in the way, and how they learn best. From there we set clear, realistic goals together, both academic ones (like improving in a specific subject or preparing for exams) and personal ones (like building better study habits or feeling less overwhelmed).
In terms of methods, I lean on a coaching approach rather than lecturing. That means asking good questions, listening closely, and helping students find their own solutions instead of just handing them answers. I teach practical study skills, how to break large tasks into manageable steps, plan a week realistically, use techniques like spaced repetition and active recall, and manage time and focus without burning out. When motivation is the challenge, we work on understanding what's behind it and finding strategies that actually fit the student's life.
The dynamic in my sessions is relaxed, warm, and without judgment. I want students to feel safe enough to be honest about what they're struggling with, whether that's procrastination, stress, self-doubt, or simply not knowing where to start. I'm patient, I celebrate small wins, and I try to build the kind of confidence and resilience that carries beyond any single assignment. Sessions are interactive, a real conversation, not a one-way talk, and I adjust my pace and approach to each individual.
Above all, my goal is to give students a supportive space where they can grow: academically and personally, and leave each session feeling a little more capable and a little more in control.
