My lessons are structured, engaging, and highly personalized. I combine strong academic expectations with a calm and supportive learning environment so students feel both challenged and safe to grow. With a background in international education and learning support, I focus not only on teaching content, but on helping students understand how to learn effectively.
I use scaffolded instruction to break complex concepts into manageable steps and apply active learning strategies so students practice, explain, and reflect rather than passively listen. I integrate metacognitive techniques, helping students track their progress, identify gaps, and build independent study skills. Where appropriate, I apply Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles, offering flexible ways to understand and demonstrate knowledge.
A typical lesson includes a short check-in and goal setting, focused instruction or guided practice, independent application, and structured feedback. I continuously monitor progress and adjust strategies based on the student’s needs. I also pay close attention to motivation, perfectionism, and confidence, as these often impact performance as much as academic skills.
