I like a combination of lecture classes, discussion/doubt clearing periods and giving exercises. All of this would focus on understanding physical systems clearly and training the ability to translate the picture into equations.

I also love focusing on numerical/computational methods as a lot of modern research focuses on such methods than purely relying on using bookish/mathematical knowledge.
