One of my most memorable experiences as a tutor was working with a student who was struggling with reading comprehension. This student had a learning disability that made it difficult for them to understand and remember what they read.

To address this challenge, I created custom lesson plans focused on building the student's comprehension skills. We started by reading together and discussing the material in detail. Then, we moved on to reading comprehension exercises that challenged the student to summarize the material, identify key ideas, and make connections between different concepts.

Over time, the student's reading comprehension improved significantly. They were able to read more complex material with greater ease, and their grades in language arts classes improved. More importantly, the student's confidence grew as they began to see their own progress and realize that they were capable of succeeding.
