Felix Gerzer

My name is Felix, I am 25 years old and I am a marine biologist and oceanographer. I hold a B.Sc. (Hons) in Marine Environmental Science. In 2021 I moved to Mauritius where I focused on studying the tropical coastal environments around the island. My focus during that period was on zooplankton, Crown of Thorns Starfish (COTS), coastal erosion, environmental impact assessments, coral reef ecology, seagrass ecology, blue carbon, etc.
In 2024 I embarked on an expedition to Rodrigues Island, in the Western Indian Ocean, where I focused on the behavior of sea cucumbers and micro-zooplankton. In 2025 I worked as a marine biology educator at the Austrian NGO MareMundi Institute, located on the Croatian Island of Krk, where I co-managed the educational program on a secondary and tertiary level. Currently, I am involved in a research project in Sri Lanka. Any topics regarding environmental sciences is within my capability of teaching.
