My lessons are structured to be clear, purposeful, and strongly learner-centred, with a focus on helping students use English confidently in real-life contexts. I design each lesson around the learner’s goals, level, and practical needs, ensuring that every activity contributes directly to meaningful language development.
I begin each lesson by setting context through a short conversation, discussion, or task related to the learner’s interests or professional background. This warm-up stage helps activate existing knowledge, reduces speaking anxiety, and immediately places English in a communicative setting rather than as an abstract system of rules.
The core part of the lesson focuses on introducing or developing target language—such as vocabulary, grammar structures, or functional expressions—always presented in context. Drawing on my background in communication and research, I prioritise clarity and relevance, explaining language in a simple, logical way and showing how it is used naturally by native speakers. I avoid overloading students with theory, instead focusing on patterns, usage, and practical examples.
This is followed by guided practice, where learners apply the new language through structured activities such as short dialogues, sentence-building tasks, or controlled role-plays. During this stage, I provide immediate, constructive feedback to support accuracy while maintaining learner confidence. As students become more comfortable, the lesson transitions into freer communicative tasks, such as discussions, problem-solving activities, or scenario-based role-plays. These tasks allow learners to actively use English to express ideas, negotiate meaning, and build fluency.
