Dynamic classes are the best. I like to mix different activities that work the 4 main skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. The secret of teaching is setting up the student for success. We start small and build up to the desired outcome. Getting to know the student's interests and incorporating them in the class is also a must to make the class more fun. I may teach a little grammar just as support but that's not the bulk of the class. When we were small children we didn't learn grammar in order to learn how to speak. I break down the language in small activities that are easily understandable. There's a lot of listening and speaking practice unless the student's needs are something else. I like to use short videos and songs. I also like to use visual aids. Visual aids are specially important for beginners. Homework helps but I'll leave it up to you if that's something you're interested in. One could say that my main technique is communicative approach but I use a plethora of techniques that I've picked up in my more than 10 years of teaching experience. I've taught all ages and levels.
