I'm Kapil, 22, born and brought up in Mumbai, India.
My mother being a primary school English teacher and also studying and learning in English for more than 16 years gives me a good command over the language.
I have scored 6.5 in IELTS examination. I have arrived in Berlin on 15 September 2025 for my Master's course in Computer Science, in Fresenius University of Applied Sciences.
As an English teacher I would like to follow the below pattern
1. 🎯 Set the Stage (The Beginning)-A quick, engaging activity (like a grammar review question, or vocabulary puzzle).
2.📚 Presentation & Modelling (I Do)
Direct Instruction (10-15 minutes): I will explicitly introduce the new skill, concept, or text. This might involve explaining a grammar rule, defining a new literary term (like metaphor or dramatic irony), or providing necessary historical context for a text.
Modelling (The "I Do"): This is crucial. I show the students how to use the skill. For example, if the objective is analyzing character, I will read a passage aloud and "think aloud," demonstrating the mental process of identifying textual evidence and drawing an inference.
3.✍️ Guided Practice (We Do)
Students begin to apply the skill or concept in a supportive, low-stakes environment with immediate teacher feedback.
Collaborative Work: Students work in pairs (like Think-Pair-Share) or small groups to discuss a text or solve a problem. The teacher circulates the room, listening to discussions, answering questions, and providing immediate, corrective feedback.
Controlled Practice: Students attempt the new skill with heavy scaffolding. This could be completing a fill-in-the-blank grammar exercise, answering multiple-choice comprehension questions, or using a provided sentence stem to write a thesis statement.
4. 📝 Independent Practice & Production (You Do)
Writing: Drafting an introductory paragraph for an analytical essay.
Speaking/Listening: Participating in a Socratic Seminar or formal debate.
Reading: Independently reading a new passage and annotating it for the target literary device.
5.Closure & Review (The End)
The final few minutes of class are dedicated to summarizing the learning.
Review and Wrap-up: The teacher briefly restates the main objective and summarizes the key concepts learned.
Homework Assignment: Relevant independent practice assigned to reinforce the day's learning.
