My name is Beatriz and I grew up in Porto, in the north of Portugal. Although I was there until I was 18. The food, the landscapes and the beautiful traditions of the region never cease to inspire me. Today I live in Germany and am currently studying English and American studies in the bachelor's degree. One of the most beautiful experiences at an international university is to share my culture with others and at the same time learn from them. If you are interested in learning European Portuguese, you can find an overview of my course here. In my lessons, I attach great importance to conversation-oriented learning that is useful for everyday situations and works with simple and clear language. In doing so, I take into account both the language level of the learners and the region of the country in which they are particularly interested. I draw attention to differences in vocabulary and pronunciation in order to enrich the lessons and to respond specifically to individual learning objectives. This is especially important for learners who feel like locals and want to integrate well, because knowledge of historical backgrounds and regional linguistic differences play an important role in this. As already mentioned, conversation is a central part of my teaching method. In each lesson, we talk about relevant topics together, using the vocabulary that was previously introduced in class. Regular practice and continuous communication are crucial. I often use learning materials such as e-books so that learners can do writing exercises both in class and at home. Since grammar often requires the formation of sentences, I find that this method helps learners to understand the content more easily. At the end of each lesson there is a short quiz to summarize the most important content of the lesson. At the end of a level, a test is also conducted to check the learning progress and knowledge of the learners.
